Dallas, Texas - November 20, 2024 - The Arts District Chorale (ADC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Jordan to its Board of Directors, effective October 27, 2024.
A singer (baritone) with ADC since 2009, Jordan brings valuable insight to the artistic and business operations of the chorale. He has served on both ADC’s Marketing and Membership Committees, most recently becoming the Membership Chair.
Jordan is a native Dallasite with early ties to choral music. At Highland Park High School, he sang with Lads and Lassies. For the past ten years, he has sung with the First Unitarian Church of Dallas’ Sanctuary Choir.
Jordan received a BA in English Literature from Southern Methodist University and a Master in Business Administration from The University of Texas, Austin. He currently is a Senior Marketing Specialist with Hilltop Holdings in Dallas.
Civically minded, Jordan is active with numerous community organizations and endeavors: Toastmasters International as district leader, Greenland Hills Neighborhood Association as board member, and a volunteer with many arts-related organizations, including AT&T Performing Arts Center, the Dallas Opera, Broadway Dallas, and the Dallas Theater Center. In February 2024, he was recognized as Volunteer of the Year by Hilltop Holdings. As a result, Hilltop donated $5,000 to ADC, his choice of a nonprofit organization recipient.
When Jordan is not out and about volunteering at-large, he and husband Tim Myrick attend plays, movies, and musical events of every hue, as well as restoring a 1927 home.
Says ADC Board President Anne Thomas, “Scott is a giver at heart, a real natural when it comes to volunteerism, creativity and community spirit. He has done much for ADC, and we are fortunate to have him at this juncture in our organization’s history.”
“The mission of the Arts District Chorale is one that I hold near to my heart,” says Jordan. “As a lifelong arts patron who also enjoys singing, I continue to be impressed by the talent, repertoire, and community outreach of the ADC. I look forward to expanding the capacity in which I can contribute to the organization.”
